Knokke-Heist is a seaside resort with an important cultural appearance. Not only the casino, but also the cultural centre of Scharpoord. Together, they offer a large amount of culture. Besides that, Knokke-Heist counts as much as fifty art galleries, of which some are of an international level.

And then there´s the Lippenslaan, the well-known, elongated and renovated shopping street. The further you walk into the direction of het Zoute, the further the ‘M´as-tu vu? level rises. Flashier cars, more expensive handbags, classier shops, more stylish women and golf cars driving around determine the street image here. Het Zoute is the mundane seaside resort of the coast, with stately lanes, but also curving roads in calm areas with breathtaking villas, a golf course and of course... the Zwin.

Heist is a real family seaside resort, with a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Duinbergen, a calm domestic area without high-rise blocks. The villas, of which the architecture is worth admiring, are situated on a hilly landscape that respects the level difference of the dunes. In Albertstrand, the coastal life gets more crowded, busy and evolves around the centre of amusement: the Casino. Knokke is the old centre and the heart of the seaside resort: here you will find the nostalgic hotels and villas, the mundane nightclubs and the busy shopping streets which hold a lot of well-known shops with striking names. Het Zoute is the elegant standing villa area of Knokke-Heist.

Knokke-Heist has culture, nature and nightlife in all its forms. For those who admire the different expressions of art, there more than just the art galleries of Knokke, but also the many exhibitions. Nature lovers can enjoy the Zwin, a unique nature reserve, home to over 100 different bird species, among which is the stork. For a night out there´s choice between theatre, cinema, casino, and concerts or dancing in one of the elegant dancings or trendy discos.
